During the early 20th century Horace Trumbauer was one of the most sought after and prodigious architects in the country. Throughout his life, and to accommodate the huge demand for his services, Horace Trumbauer staffed his offices with the best designers, engineers, and builders available at the time. In 1908 William Ott Frank joined the Horace Trumbauer team as their chief engineer and draftsman. His son, William Edward, joined the firm in 1937 after being discharged from the Army Corps of Engineers following World War ll.  Three generations of his family have overseen the Horace Trumbauer legacy of creating masterpieces ever since.  For over 100 years the Office of Horace Trumbauer has designed, built, solutioned, and restored hundreds of homes across the United States, and is a recognized leader in representing the highest standards of excellence in the housing industry.

Describing the Trumbauer legacy in the preface to Michael C. Katherens’ book, American Splendor: The Residential Architecture of Horace Trumbauer, H. H. Reed states, “No American builder in the first three decades of the 20th century could equal his output in the sheer number and splendor of his commissions.”
